Blasts at Railway Stations

Date:- January 23,24 & 27 
Five Blasts ripped through Mumbai's Railway Stations & Trains in the early months of 1998.


KanjurMarg station(January 23) & the tracks between Goregaon & Malad(January 24) were among the targets.

Three Consecutive blasts occured on one single day(February 27) near Virar, Santacruz & Kandivali Railway Stations. Thease were again low-intensity explosins which killed 4 persons & left over 30 injured.

    A session court on July 8,2004,awarded life sentence to 11 convicts , including a Pakistani national,for their role in the blasts. According to the prosecution, they were all acting on instructions from Pakistan's ISI. One of them, a Pak national named Shamshed Gulam Kadir Hyder, was acquitted by the court, which said he should be deported to Pakistan.
